Boy Genius Reports have gotten hold of a legitimate Palm Pre and are promising a full review of the handset later today.
Dammit Palm, where is OUR Pre.
From their initial impressions they have said:
The Pre feels really good in your hand in terms of size and shape, but there’s a real plasticky aura about it. Additionally, things aren’t looking good for that QWERTY either. When you try and type on the top row of keys, your finger hits the bottom part of the front piece and on top of that, you often hit multiple keys at the same time while typing. It’s actually really frustrating and doesn’t bode well for such a fantastic social communication/personal/business tool.
More later.

Didn’t they say the keyboard buttons are the same size of those on the Centro? If so then those that have used the Centro and loved it should be fine with the keys- I thought the little bubbly letters would be hard to work with but ended up finding them easy and currently hate typing on my Blackberry- so hopefully the reviewer just hasn’t used Palm type letters before and found the adjustment difficult

The plastic feel thing bothers me, because one thing Apple has always handled well is a high quality feel (although, sure, it scratches like crazy).
Yeah. I care about those details.
