Not to burst that dream bubble hanging over your heads, but if you're gonna take the time to put that amount of memory into every device, why not just have it unlocked from day 1? I would be pissed off a year later if all of a sudden my 8 GB device that I've been struggling to figure out what stays on and what goes, suddenly has 16 GB that it had all along, ya know? But with cloud computing, you technically shouldn't need that much space, you should be able to access a lot off the cloud, but that depends on what apps we get and how soon.

And to touch on the Kindle App, I can't see a reason why this wouldn't be good for all involved, Sprint and Amazon have a good relationship and already are partnered with the actual Kindle device. The Pre will use the Amazon music store for direct downloads...add books to that shouldn't be difficult.

Cloud storage is where we're headed.
Picasa for pictures, YouTube for videos, and something similar to store and stream people's personal music collection.

That'd be pretty awesome... though 40 gigs of music... online... ouch.
Random fact:

Kansas state law requires pedestrians crossing the highways at night to wear tail lights.

The cloud doesn't have to mean it is online, you can create a cloud on your own computer and stream it from there. What would be really neat is to somehow tell Amazon (or whatever company) who already has all the music files on their servers what music you already currently have, and then be able to access those songs via streaming from their server at any time. This way you get the uptime and bandwidth of a huge site, but also get all your music, any time, any where, without running up all the space on your phone. Proving to said company that you actually own a copy of that song would be the real tricky part.

You know, I kinda would be pissed too, but if the "Cloud" thing works, then hey the Pre will be in a GREAAT position! :o

What does the email interface on the Pre look like? If I am sync'd with Exchange and with Google, can I filter out my Google emails to focus on my work-related emails from Exchange?

Btw, I am very excited to hear about Pre supporting multiple Exchange servers! I hope the post I read was not too good to be true...

Palm's website promises that the Pre will be able to sync with Outlook. However, all of the descriptions of the actual workings of Synergy and of the Contacts/Calendar/Tasks/Notes make reference to Facebook, Google, and Microsoft Exchange, and make no reference to Outlook. How can I expect to Synergize 'sync' my Outlook data with the Pre? I need that sync, since Outlook on my desktop syncs with business specific applications (Amicus Attorney and Amicus Accounting) and through the Internet to other computers of mine via Plaxo.

I see that a separate program allows one to sync Google and Outlook, for a monthly fee. Should I expect to have to invest in that third-party solution to get the Pre to sync with Outlook (non-Microsoft Exchange)?

Does the calendar app on the Pre have a snooze option? I'm reliant on the snooze function on my WM5 OS, so I'm wondering if the Pre also have snoozing.

Will the Pre have a built-in VPN client that supports PPTP, IPSEC, and L2TP? Will there be an application available on the day of release? It supports 802.1x, and EAS, so it doesn't make sense that there's no VPN client.

Will the Pre make my manhood larger? From all the specs I've seen, it seems that it will, but it's hard to be sure. :P
