It's not just apps for the Centro, they were written with the old palms in mind. e.g. Dopewars

How's the keyboard?

I've heard that the pre's keyboard will be extremely similar to the centro's keyboard.

Is it easy to get used to? I tried out a palm keyboard in a sprint store and kept hitting the wrong buttons :x

The keyboard is good on the centro. It's just a different style of typing. You don't type with the "Pad" of your finger, you type with the tip or the nail of the finger. Once I started doing that I am very accurate and quick.

If you type with the tip of your nail or finger, you will be fine. It gets easier as time goes and the longer you have the phone.

My Palm Centro is nice because of how it fits into my pocket when I am on the go, along with its ease of access when it is needed. I also like the fact that it had a built in qwerty keyboard and a touchscreen. These are two very nice features on the phone.

Also, the sound system on it is AMAZING. I've never had a phone that has great output of sound. When I listen to the internet radio, the volume can be turned up to a nice level for enjoyment.

Finally, I really like the brightness of the phone. Some phones don't give you a bright screen to look at, and I think that is a downfall. For the Centro, it's so bright that you could use it as a flashlight if you wanted.

I have done that many times myself. It's pretty darn convenient.

I have had a Centro for a year and a half now. Even though other smartphones have a better browser, and I will likely upgrade to a Pre, I still love my Centro.

Five reasons:
1) It's tiny
2) I can type pretty quickly on the keyboard (I hate the iPhone's virtual keyboard!)
3) It works on Sprint, and I get an amazing deal with Sprint (2 Centros, unlimited data, tethering, 1000 min shared all for $60/month)
4) Google Maps!
5) Can use Kinoma player to stream sky.fm/di.fm and use the headphone adapter to have streaming music wherever I go (I plug it into the AUX IN in my car and go around streaming music while I'm driving...works great!)

Really, a great phone with an unbeatable price -- both 1-time for the phone and monthly with Sprint.

Also, the Centro is screamingly fast, tried to play with the diamond in the Sprint store, the lag really threw me off.
