800w Trumps the Treo Pro IMHO

Postby bmoore » Wed Apr 15, 2009 3:59 pm

I'm surprised that the EOL on the 800w has already come to pass. Having looked at it and it's successor the PRO, the 800w seems to be a superior business user platform. The gummy keys on the PRO that mimic the centro are aggravating as all get out to use for any length of time for email and sms.

Any 800w or 800w to Pro converts that agree/disagree? I was looking at picking up an 800w when they disappeared and am debating about picking one up off ebay since you cant get them from Sprint anymore.

I've heard the pre will have the same gummy keys as the centro

It does look that way from the photos that I've seen. For the life of me, I cant figure out why they went that direction. The harder plastic have a much better tactile response in my experience and make typing email and sms message much easier.

I've had hardware issues/annoyances with the 800W, but the keyboard has been just fine.

I'm surprised too that they came out with the 700wx, 800w, Palm Pro, and now the Pre in a reasonably short time of each other. They hardly have a chance to work out the bugs, and respond to the complaints after a real comsumer gets their hands on one. But, I'm goning to sell my 700wx, and my 800w, with all original stuff, and all connections and cases to get the Palm Pre. Anybody want to buy?????
