Problem you have when competing with the iPhone is that the Apple ave a music ecosystem set in the form of ITunes that is unrivalled and almost impossible to compete with.
Solution would be to build you new phone to sync with ITunes.
That’s what Palm did.
Smart.

The Palm Pre apparently has the necessary code for syncing with ITunes build right into the firmware. Presumably Jon Rubenstein hasn’t ust stuck it in there in the hope that Apple won’t notice, an that the Cupertino company have agreed because ITunes is a commercial entity that can’t lose out on revenue from Pre users.

Apple agreed to this? Hmmm…. Sounds a little fishy from a company that has threatened to sue the pants off of Palm…
I’m skeptical. Is that wrong?

iTunes syncs with a number of older MP3 players.
This is iffy on the legal front (i.e. without Apple’s permission) but as long as the Pre doesn’t sync user’s iTunes Store files Palm is probably ok.
