MobileCity seems to be offering the Palm Pre Unlocked for $699 even though an unlocked version hasn’t been announced and the website has an unknown ETA for the arrival. Doesn’t seem like the wisest thing to spend your money on. Guess it depends how keen you are. Interestingly the iPhone has recently become available completely unlocked through certain vendors who are buying them from places like Belgium, where network locking is illegal. Maybe MobileCity is just anticipating a swift rollout to Europe. Maybe they’re the smart ones….

If you merely were able to preorder without paying, then you’d have nothing to lose. However, if you have to put your hard earned money out with no delivery date promise or workability promise, forget it!!!
